Muslim woman sentenced to jail for renouncing her religion vs the rumors about Kareena Kapoor’s marriage to an actor Saif Ali Khan and her conversion to Islam

First news published at: http://www.expressindia.com/latest-news/ltbgtMuslim-woman-sentenced-to-jail-for-renouncing-her-religionlt-bgt/280149/  Muslim woman sentenced to jail for renouncing her religion
Kuala Lumpur, March 4: A Muslim-born woman, who joined a banned sect, has been sentenced to two years in jail for renouncing her religion. An Islamic Shariah High Court judge in
Malaysia"s eastern Terengganu state ruled that Kamariah Ali is still a Muslim.
“The court is not convinced that the accused has repented and is willing to abandon any teachings contrary to Islam," local media reports quoted Judge Muhammad Abdullah as saying.  Last month, Kamariah, 57, a graduate of
Cairo"s Al Azhar University, was convicted of declaring herself an apostate after she and 58 others were arrested in July 2005 for following the teachings of the banned

Sky
Kingdom, a local sect claiming to promote inter-faith harmony. Kamariah"s lawyer, Sa"adiah Din, said her client has asked the court to consider a lighter sentence.

Kamariah was convicted of apostasy in a separate case in 1992 and had served a jail term.

Muslims in
Malaysia, who make up 60 per cent of the population, are not encouraged to leave the religion and those who do renounce the religion are sent to religious re-education camps.   I read second news about Karishma Kapoor at media_monitor5 of yahoo group. In that yahoo group there is a letter of Narain Kataria, president of ‘Indian American Intellectuals Forum, N.Y.
11373. The letter is sent to varuous newspapers.

There is no contradiction of the contents of letter uptill now. If information is wrong then there should be contradiction.

KAREENA KAPOOR’S CONVERSION TO ISLAM The rumors about Kareena Kapoor’s marriage to an actor Saif Ali Khan and her conversion to Islam has agitated the minds of Indians (Hindus) living in USA.  Kareena Kapoor is one of the top most actresses in the film industry in Bollywood. She is also one of the prettiest women in
India. Many Indians (Hindus) look to her as a role model and a scion of the Kapoor Khandan which is held in high esteem in the country. With her runaway success in movies, Kareena is in an enviable position. But the status also brings social responsibility and accountability. It appears that this woman is out to insult Hindu nation by marrying a Muslim man and converting to Islam in spite of the fact that the great doyens of Mumbai film industry, Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and her mother Babita Shivdasani – all of them – had been driven from Islamic Pakistan at the time of Partition because they were Hindus.  We concede that it is Kareena’s personal decision to marry whomsoever she wants. Our main objection is to her conversion to Islam.  Most Hindus consider conversion to other religions as an aggression on the Hindu Samaj. We also fail to understand why she has to convert to Islam and why not the other way round with Saif converting to Hinduism!   The conversion of Hindu people to Islam has many serious political connotations and ramifications for our ancestral country. We cannot forget that it was the rise in the Muslim population in
India that gave rise to the demand for
Pakistan and resulted in the vivisection of
India. Bollywood is controlled by Muslim underworld. They use threats and violence to meet their ends. It is also not clear whether Kareena is being blackmailed by some of these people into converting. Hindu actresses should also learn a lesson or two from the miserable plight of Monica Bedi, an innocent Punjabi girl, who was lured  into  a trap by gangster Abu Salem.  She was arrested in
Lisbon in 2002 and finally landed in
Bhopal jail.   Hindu parents should also note that it is the ignorance of Hindu History and lack of Hindu sanskaras that is playing havoc with our Hindu Samaj. Hindus are watching with suppressed anguish the conversion of many Hindu actresses to Islam.  Hindus believe that their catholicity and respect for other religions is being misused and mistaken for their weakness.  Today, Hindus are in a glowering mood and feel being pushed to the wall. I am afraid one day the entire Hindu Samaj may decide that ‘enough is enough’ and may rise in revolt against the exploiters of our society. Narain KatariaPresident

Leaders and preachers of religious freedom should place the examples of such Hindu women who became successful to marry Muslim personalities without renouncing their religion and without converting into Islam. Related articles:

In Hindi film field, it has become a regular feature.

If anybody wants more wives, they would convert or get converted.

The list has been lengthy - Dilip kumar, Kishoe kumar, Dharmendra and so on.

Of course, our Kamal Hassan has been successful without converting.

Perhaps, our Karunanidi, TR Balu and other Dravifian heroes also.

Kindly read a seperaste posting abailable here itself, on Uniform Civil Code Supreme Court judgments, comments etc. I do not thibk anybody would have given facts more than the Supreme Court in the said judgment.

You can offer your comments also.
